1、 Definition and Structure

A two-stage worm gear reducer is a reduction device composed of two worm gear transmission units connected in series. This type of reducer usually consists of two worm gears, two worm gears, and related components such as bearings and housing. Two worm gears and worm gears form two reduction stages, which are connected in series to achieve a larger reduction ratio and higher output torque.

2、 Working principle

The working principle of the two-stage worm gear reducer is based on the meshing transmission between the worm gear and the worm wheel. When the input shaft drives the first stage worm to rotate, the first stage worm will drive the first stage worm gear that meshes with it to rotate. Due to the usually large transmission ratio of worm gears, the speed of the first stage worm gear will significantly decrease, while the torque will correspondingly increase. Subsequently, the first stage worm gear serves as the input for the second stage worm gear, driving the second stage worm gear to rotate, thereby driving the second stage worm gear to output greater torque and lower speed.
